We can't keep it from snowing;
  We can't catch it as it falls;
     Anything shy of that, we can handle.

Snow Melting

MelterNightShot small

“HELLFIRE”

With a combined burner output of 24,000,000 BTU/hr, this beast of a machine melts 135 tons of snow per hour. Depending on the density of the snow, this equates to 12-18 semi loads of snow per hour with the equivalent water output of 540 gallons per minute. It is a completely mobile unit that is pulled by a semi tractor from location to location. Ours also has a “snow start” option on it that allows it to start the melting process without having to fill the melting tank with water from a fire hydrant or auxiliary water tank first.

Melters are an option for clients that have limited space for snow storage on site. They are often significantly more cost effective than hauling off site as well as being much more environmentally friendly by reducing significant truck traffic. In many cases on larger campuses where parking spaces are at a premium, putting the number of trucks on the parking lot that would be needed to haul off the necessary amount of snow could be nearly impossible to obtain on a regular basis, aside from creating massive wear and tear on the pavement. Snowmelters can be run around the clock without safety concerns to employees/tenants and with much less wear and tear on lots. Because of the specialized nature of the equipment and its significant up-front cost, we are one of the few private contractors in the country that own and operate one of these pieces of machinery.
