Performance
Call us old fashioned, but we believe the ultimate judgement of a service provider’s worth is the level of service they provide.
In today’s society, talk is cheap. Anyone that puts a website together and rents an piece of equipment and buys a pusher calls themselves “professional commercial snow plowers”. But in reality, that’s just all hot air. The snow and ice management industry is very unregulated. There are no licenses or certifications or standards required to operate in this industry. So if anyone that wakes up in the morning, puts a website together and takes out a home equity loan to get their hands on some equipment can market themselves as a professional contractor, how is one to differentiate the true professionals from those with a fancy marketing scheme?
There’s no silver bullet answer to that question, but ultimately there is no substitution for track record.
Here are some highlights from ours:
In 50 years of plowing snow commercially in the Chicagoland market, we have NEVER lost an account because of unsatisfactory service. NEVER.
In that same 50 years, we have NEVER had a building close because of our services — even during blizzards and states of emergencies.
In that same 50 years, we have maintained an exceptional slip and fall record.
In that same 50 years, we have NEVER been unable to show that our services met a scope of work in a slip and fall case.
We don’t believe there is another contractor in our market that can honestly make those claims. And achieving these milestones don’t happen by accident. It takes an absolute refusal to fail in any situation over the long term. It’s also why we are a self-performing snow-only company. Every business decision we make is with the sole intention of optimizing our snow and ice management operations. We’re also not owned by private equity. Our business decisions are our own to make and we can invest in ourselves and our growth as we see fit.
“Never forget what got you to the dance.” is another one of Richard’s catch phrases. This applies to so many areas of life in general, but as people often seem astounded that we’ve managed to be a snow-only company since the early 1990’s, wondering why we don’t do landscaping or something else in the summer, we understand that superior snow and ice management and always being able to do what others can’t is “what got us to the dance.” It’s where we found our success. It’s who we are. And we will never dismiss that or sell that out chasing after the almighty dollar. Because we know that once we do, we can never get it back. A reputation takes decades to build and only one mistake to ruin.
